What Went Right?
A five game winning streak to end the season on a high.
Andrew Hentschke struck form which coincided with our winning streak to close the campaign, averaging
23.3 ppg over a three game stretch in that period.
The recruitment of Roy Kempster and Josh McElroy was crucial to the success of the team.
Warren Young and Andrew Hentschke both passed the 50 career game milestone for the club
during the season.
What Went Wrong?
Preceding the five game winning streak was an equally long losing streak, punctuated by a forfeit.
The lack of consistent numbers throughout the season was a constant stress to the organisation
of the team, lowlighted by consistent match-day withdrawals by several key players.
Lack of consistency on the court, especially early in the season when the team struggled at both
ends of the floor.
Poor foul shooting once again marred our season, quite possibly costing us valuable wins along
the way.
Looking Ahead To 2007-2008
Key Questions:
Will there be a team next season? Will we have the consistent numbers to ensure the continuation
of the Rusty Ballers tradition?
Where will improvement come from? Will there be any recruitment in the off-season, or will it
be an improvement from within the group? Who will return next season?
Will we get someone to tape our games on a regular basis to ensure a record of our performance
is kept?
Key Recruiting Needs:
A back-up combo guard to support Andrew Hentschke and Roy Kempster in the back court. Matt Yeomans
has indicated his interest in returning next season and would fit that bill nicely. Time will tell if he re-signs.
Another rebounder. Steve Goodrich and Warren Young had sub-par rebounding seasons. Unless there
can be an improvement from these two, more rebounding help is required to support Josh McElroy (when he is playing).
An outside shooter. Again, Matt Yeomans would fit the bill for this category quite nicely. Warren
Young improved his range this season, however a more consistent threat from deep would be a bonus.
